Initial Oral Examination
Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination of your teeth, smile, and gums. To help you see what we are diagnosing, color photographs will be taken and shown to you on a computer screen. We will perform an oral cancer screening, charting, periodontal probing, and offer our diagnosis and treatment recommendations. We will also take x-rays, which includes x-rays of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of decay of between the back teeth.
